In emerging nations, the 3D printing of houses provides enormous potential, but the overseas property sector is unlikely to be impacted for some time, says technology expert, James Dearsley
The 3D printing of houses could have a huge impact in emerging countries – and possibly other planets in future – but it is unlikely to threaten established international developers yet, says a top technology expert.
A Chinese company has used giant 3D printers to make 10 full-sized, detached single-storey houses in a day, other firms have also created 3D homes in 24 hours and there have even been suggestions that in future the technology could be used to construct cheap homes on other planets.
But real estate technology expert James Dearsley, who has also written about the potential of 3D printing on his website at www.jamesdearsley.co.uk, says the technology has exciting potential, but it is still being developed.
