House prices enjoyed a strong October in Australia, according to the latest RP Data CoreLogic home value index.
The report foudn that prices rose 1.2 per cent on average in the mainland state capitals, significantly up on the 0.1 per cent growth recorded in September.
“As we move into the third month of spring, the housing market remains relatively strong. However, despite the strong monthly result, the annual trend in capital gains has been moderating since a recent peak in April earlier this year,” commented RP Data’s national research director, Tim Lawless.
