CBRE, specialist in consulting and real estate services, has been appointed by IDI Gazeley (Brookfield Logistics Properties) to manage its portfolio of logistics assets in Europe. IDI Gazeley’s portfolio contains 39 logistics warehouses spread across six European countries, which have a total surface area of 850,000 m2.
The agreement reached by both companies establishes that CBRE will manage the portfolio of logistics properties that IDI Gazeley owns in Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary and the UK. These assets are leased to a wide range of pan-European tenants, including brands such as ‘L’Orèal’, ‘Volkswagen’, ‘Lidl‘, ‘H&M’, and ‘Mercedes-AMG’.
According to Alberto Larrazábal, the National Director of Industrial and Logistics at CBRE, “we are proud of the trust placed in us by the firm to manage its assets; their warehouses are built to the highest quality and they house first-rate tenants”.
Meanwhile, Ingo Steves, General Manager and Senior Vice President of IDI Gazeley in Germany and Head of Operations for Europe and China, commented that “IDI Gazeley is committed to the service that it provides its clients and so the experience that CBRE brings as an asset manager makes them the best strategic ally possible”.
Regarding the situation in the logistics market, Alberto Larrazábal says that “the logistics market performed well last year both in Madrid and Barcelona, increasing its absorption (m2 leased) and with investment returning to pre-crisis levels (€614m)”. Looking ahead to 2015, CBRE predicts it will be a very busy year, during which the rental market will continue to grow, with (investors showing) a keen interest in both the purchase of plots, as well as turnkey and other profitable assets.
