Leaving feedback has become a staple of the tourism and hospitality industry, with cards inviting guest comments present everywhere from bed and breakfasts to restaurants. One couple, though, may have been fined £100 by a Blackpool hotel after leaving negative feedback on travel review site TripAdvisor.
The hotel was described as a “rotten stinking hotel” by Mr. and Mrs. Jenkinson, who later found an additional £100 charged to their credit card, which the hotel says is in line with its “bad review” policy.
Trading Standards from Cumbria County Council are investigating the claim, reports The Telegraph.
