“Paris” and “affordable” are not words you ever use in the same sentence, but a new report from Toronto-based Decode group has ranked the French capital as the most affordable place for young people to live.
The Youthful Cities Affordability Index compares cities around the world using factors such as wages, rent and transport costs, as well as the average price of a cinema ticket. Paris’ impressive minimum wage of €9.53 put it at the top of the list, despite its reputation as one of the most expensive places in the world.
Toronto followed in second place, followed by Los Angeles, Chicago and Berlin.
