A record 2.1million visitors searched for property on top Swedish real estate website, Hemnet.se, up 28% year-on-year and 5% higher than the previous high in Autumn 2013
Leading property website Hemnet says more people than ever are looking for real estate in Sweden.
During the week of 10 March, Hemnet at http://www.hemnet.se had a record 2.1 million visitors, up 28% on last year and 5% up on the previous record in autumn 2013.
The numbers have been boosted by limited homes availability in Sweden, which means sales are quickly being achieved and buyers, including those from overseas, are often faced with a longer search.
Hemnet spokesman, Staffan Tell, says, “There has been much focus on the low housing supply at the beginning of the year. The housing market has been hot, with a high turnover rate in which homes often quickly disappear from the market. People therefore need to be active in their housing search for a long time. This probably explains why we are seeing an unprecedented interest right now.”
In total, Hemnet had 2,134,694 visitors during the week of 10 March compared with 1,661,266 the previous year. The number accessing using mobile phones rose to 484,114 compared with 404,785 last year.
