If you are thinking of buying an affordable apartment, townhouse or villa in Cyprus to start in business, the wider Larnaca area is a great place to start looking. The wellness sector is one area that could provide you with a living, as it spans a wide range of activities. Cyprus has long been a preferred holiday and retirement location for British people, but over the last couple of years the Cyprus tourism board as increased its efforts to attract more German visitors, and this with great success.
German tourists are particularly interested in wellness related holidays. In 2016, some 48,000 German tourists visited the island, by 2017 this number had risen to 57,000. The wellness industry includes spas, hair, beauty and therapy centres, fitness and gym centres, personal training and lifecoaching. There are even some schools on the island, where you can train.
If you happen to live in the UK and want to start in business in Cyprus, the National Careers Service offers advice on how to become a beauty therapist for example. Beauty therapy can include skin and body care, such as facials and make-up sessions, or hand and head massages, or simply removal of unwanted facial or body hair. Some salons offer electro-therapy treatments or more specialised massage to improve body and shape.
The Cyprus government has set up a website with advice on human resources, financial assistance, taxation matters and information on regulations on how to set up and run a business in Cyprus.
Larnaca lies on the south coast of Cyprus. The resort is just 11 minutes via the B4 from Larnaca Airport.
